The month of May is packed with events in Murphy, North Carolina and the surrounding areas. The Spring Arts and Crafts Festival is in downtown Blairsville on the 22nd. Blairsville is located South of Murphy and is only 15 to 20 minutes away. Lots of artists and craftsman will have exhibits around the town square. Enjoy everything from paintings to pottery. There will also be entertainment by the Blairsville Dance School, classical and bluegrass musicians and maybe even a jazz, rock or barbershop quartet and of course if wouldnt be a festival without food! Sample homemade ice cream, bugers, BBQ or bake sale cookies from local charity vendors. This is one festival not to miss!
Also we all know that Memorial Day Weekend kicks off the start of Vacation Season and the summer months of FUN! In Union County, GA will be the Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony. The parade will begin at 10:00am and will follow the winding route around the old courthouse and ending at the Union County War Memorial where ceremonies will begin at 11:15am. Come and expereince this great day of remembrance.
