One of the most popular attractions in Murphy is Fields of the Wood, a biblical theme park with over 200 acres of beautiful valleys, mountains, streams and wooded areas. The park features a variety of concrete markers that depict the Bible on stones. The first temporary marker was erected in 1940 and the park evolved into the wonderful site that you can see today! Here are the top 5 things you need to know about visiting Fields of the Wood:
1. What to Expect
Fields of the Wood is a unique place to visit during your vacation to Murphy and guests of all races and religions are welcomed at this biblical theme park! When you enter the park, you will see 3 symbols from the Church of God Prophecy flag that adorn the arch. Moreover, you will also see the Jewish tribe names of Simeon, Reuben, and Gad recessed in the structural post in marble. Once you continue your drive into the park, you will notice the Arise Shine marker, the Psalms of Praise, a Baptismal Pool and the Garden Tomb that dominate the lower portion of the mountain. The most famous landmark is the massive Ten Commandments that are spread across the mountainside, which has to be seen to be believed!
