No Oil in the Mountains of North Carolina!

Hiwassee Lake in Murphy NC
June 15, 2010

The beaches of the Gulf Coast states are beautiful and usually packed this time of year, but with the oil spill still drifting toward the beaches it’s hard to decide if you want to chance your vacation stuck in oil! Here in the mountains of North Carolina, the air is warm and our lakes are crystal clear and full with all the rain we’ve had the past couple of months. Try the mountains! It can be a change of pace from year after year of going to the beach. Murphy, NC and surrounding area’s has alot to offer like, hiking the many trails that wind through the mountains, or take an easy stroll around the Hiwassee River at Murphy’s River Walk. Enjoy the many lakes and rivers here in the area, that are great for fishing or rent a pontoon boat and take a ride and expereince the undisturbed mountains that hug the lake. Murphy also has lots of shops in the downtown area. Take an afternoon and visit the local shops and then enjoy a great dinner in some of our local restaurants. Shoebooties Cafe, Murphy Chophouse, Doyle’s or Chevelles, just to name a few are great places to check out. While your here in Murphy go by the John C. Campbell Folk School and check out the crafts, and see the crafters work! While your checking the mountains out on your vacation it wouldnt be complete without staying with us in one of our beautiful mountain cabins. Perfect for the couple looking for a romantic getaway or large family – we’ve got something for everyone! Cabins with views, lake front, creek front, river front, secluded, hot tubs, game rooms and much more! We look forward to seeing you this summer on your vacation here in the mountains – where there is no oil!
